Editorial team

Marc Lettau (MUL) joined the editorial team of “Swiss Review” in June 2011 and has been Editor-in-Chief since October 2018. He lives in Bern and worked for three decades as an editor at the daily newspaper “Der Bund”, focusing on local, domestic, and foreign news. Marc Lettau has close ties with Bulgaria and knows how the “Fifth Switzerland” lives, as part of his family has lived in Tasmania for decades. Marc Lettau is part of the "trusted journalist" network.

Nema Bliggenstorfer (NB) has worked on the “Swiss Review” as an editorial assistant since May 2023. Before moving to Bern in 2022, she lived in France for over 6 years. In her pivotal role, she deals with readers, head office and regional editorial teams, graphic artists, translators and proofreaders as well as production and dispatch partners.

Stéphane Herzog has written for the “Swiss Review” since 2015. He has worked on a freelance basis for various publications and as a correspondent for the Agence Télégraphique Suisse (ats) in Geneva. He managed the monthly title “Repère social” and was involved in the launch of the www.reiso.org website. He has also managed the careers supplement of “Le Temps”. His recent investigations include reports on the position of the Roma people in Europe, tobacco multinationals and electronic cigarettes and the precarious working conditions of some physicists at CERN.

Theodora Peter is a freelance journalist for the news media and specialist publications; she has been writing regularly for the “Swiss Review” since 2018. Up to 2013, she headed the domestic editorial team of the SDA news agency and lectured at the Medienausbildungszentrum MAZ (Media Training Centre MAZ). Her career in journalism began at the “Berner Tagwacht” and then took her to Lausanne, amongst other places, where she worked as a western Swiss correspondent for the SDA. After returning to the federal capital, she worked as editor-in-chief for the daily newspaper “Der Bund”, amongst others.

Susanne Wenger (SWE) has been writing for the “Swiss Review” since 2013 and joined the editorial team in 2018. She is a freelance journalist with an interest in political processes and social reality. Wenger previously worked as an editor and head of department at several daily newspapers and a trade journal.

Amandine Madziel (AM) has been working for the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) since 2016. She studied for a Master's degree in Management. After her training, she worked as a local consular employee in Ecuador. She then worked in the Department's human resources department in Berne. Since autumn 2024, she holds the position of scientific collaborator in relations with the Swiss Abroad, at the Consular Office.  She acts as our FDFA intermediary within the “Swiss Review” editorial team and is responsible for the “Notes from the Federal Palace” section.

Roman Häfliger has been responsible for the graphic design of the “Swiss Review” since December 2025, playing a decisive role in shaping the visual language and layout of the magazine. Häfliger studied visual communication in Basel and fine arts in Zurich and has worked in graphic design studios in the Netherlands and Switzerland. Speaking about his new role, he says: “I am very excited to be working on this special magazine and to be able to tell its stories together with the team.”
