Nature, sports and lots of Switzerland: the 2023 summer camps for young Swiss Abroad

The much-loved youth camps run by the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad, SwissCommunity, give young Swiss people all over the world the opportunity to get to know their origins and each other better. Here are some impressions from the current camps.

Sports, leisure & languages (8 - 21 July 2023, Château d'Oex VD)

In the first summer camp, the young Swiss Abroad have spent two weeks full of sporting activities and great excursions, combined with the opportunity to improve their language skills. As a group, they discovered the wonderful d'Enhaut region as well as Swiss culture, using a comfortable chalet as a base.

Swiss Challenge 1 (8 - 21 July 2021, all over Switzerland)

Two weeks criss-crossing Switzerland: the Swiss Challenge is the ideal camp for young people who want to discover their home country in all its diversity. Participants discovered not only different Swiss cities, but also rural regions and the mountains. They also have learnt what it means to live in a country where four languages meet, and got to know Swiss culture.

Sports & leisure (22 July - 4 August 2023, Gsteig BE)

In the third summer camp, the young people benefit from sports and exciting activities in the Bernese Oberland. A comfortable chalet in the surroundings of Gstaad serves as a base for many experiences and discoveries during these two weeks. Together with Swiss Abroad from all over the world, they also learn about the traditions surrounding the Swiss bank holidays on 1 August and celebrate it together.

Swiss Challenge 2 (5 - 20. August 2023, all over Switzerland)

24 young Swiss Abroad discovered different Swiss cities as well as rural areas and the mountains, they learnt what it means to be in a country where four languages meet and they got to know Swiss culture. Sporting acivities also have been part of the Swiss Challenge.
