The Organisation of the Swiss Abroad wishes you a happy 1 August!

Last update on 1 August 2022

On the occasion of Swiss National Day 2022, the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad, SwissCommunity, sends you its best wishes to your country of residence. We introduce ourselves by video greeting in the context of the "Missione 1 agosto" and are part of a virtual trip around the world. Because 1 August is also celebrated abroad with much love and joy, as a look at our community platform makes perfectly clear.

Switzerland's 731st birthday is an opportunity for us to strengthen our ties with our country of origin and move closer together despite the distance. To mark the occasion, we have created a video message for you: The whole team sends you warm greetings for the Swiss National Day through our director, Ariane Rustichelli.

We would also like to thank you, dear Swiss Abroad, for your commitment to our homeland - especially on this day. On our community platform, you can discover how the Fifth Switzerland celebrates National Day: with many events and contributions from Swiss clubs and Swiss people abroad.

The video was created as part of the "Missione 1 agosto" of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). This project links the Fifth Switzerland with virtual contributions to 1 August. This year, for the first time, there will be a world tour of Swiss embassies and consulates. There are also many activities, ideas and recipes to discover.

Furthermore, in 2022, the Pro Patria Foundation presents the insignia of 1 August for the 100th time in consecutive order. This symbol of attachment to Switzerland creates many memories and impressions, which Ariane Rustichelli shares in an interview with Pro Patria (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
