Before we started our research, all we knew for sure was that Switzerland has a particularly large tenant population. We now have a much clearer idea of the situation. Nowhere else in Europe do so few people own their own property, nor do so many live in rented accommodation. Tenants are the clear majority, making Switzerland an exception in Europe. So, is that a good or a bad thing? In Switzerland’s case, it is simply a defining characteristic, as revealed by the focus article in the latest “Swiss Review”.
