Berne: Tourism

"In Berne you are never short of new impressions. It is a city crammed with high-quality vigour,"
wrote Robert Walser in 1926 in Der möblierte Mann (The Man of Means), published by Zytglogge Verlag in 2009.
Berne has preserved its historic features better than almost any other city. Since 1983, the historic centre of Berne, with its six kilometres of arcades, has been listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site. The city's medieval atmosphere, sandstone façades, many fountains, narrow side-streets and ancient towers are unique. Visitors can admire the finest views of the Old City from the "Rosengarten" or from the platform of the tower of the Minster, 101 metres up.
