Da die Schweiz ein mehrsprachiges Land ist, haben wir alle Porträtierten gebeten, sich in ihrer bevorzugten Sprache auszudrücken.

Something special about me

I was a foreign exchange student in 1986/87. I met my husband a couple of years later. His parents and my host parents were close friends.

Who are you?

After my husband and I got married, I joined him and his parents in their family business: a bar/restaurant/nightclub. My husband is a musician and I became a bartender and later a DJ. I also learned to cook appetizers, burgers and pizzas as well as bounce. Being a DJ and speaking into a mic fascinated me and I started pursuing a career in voice-over and acting. I record from home and my clients are from all over the world, including a radio station in Switzerland. My husband was always the artist in the family and he's been so supportive and an inspiration. I have had acting jobs in TV shows, some movies and several plays. We have two dogs, love going to the beach, concerts and out to dinner.

Is there anything in your daily life which links you with
 Switzerland?

I eat Swiss chocolate daily!

Does your home have a Swiss touch? In what way?

My dad is the photographer of his business calendar, which hangs in our living room. I have a CH sticker on my car and on our flag pole, we fly the Swiss flag along side the Stars and Stripes.

What is your favourite Swiss dish?

I can't decide between Fondue and Raclette.

Do you return to Switzerland regularly?

Yes, I go "home" every year for Christmas and New Years. I spend that time with my parents and siblings, as well as close friends, talking, shopping, skiing and of course, eating. Thanks to Whatsapp and Facetime, we stay in touch all year as well. And my husband is sweet, he doesn't mind me spending 3 weeks in Switzerland. He says " I get to spend the rest of the year with you!"

What feature of your country of residence would you
like to take back with you to Switzerland?

The ocean.
