Host families

An exciting way to get to know Swiss people is a stay in a Swiss host family. This is the perfect experience recipe to the real Swiss way of life.

We bet you know that the Swiss don’t just eat “Rösti” and chocolate. And similarly you do no longer believe that Switzerland is only about Heidi & Peter the goat shepherd, cheese, mountains, banks and watches…

Are you eager to know the whole story?

By staying in a Swiss host family, you will be introduced into Swiss daily life. Become familiar with other customs and traditions: different food, unusual manners, weird hobbies and all that in a foreign language!

One of the main targets of a stay with a host family is to develop understanding amongst different cultures and continents.

Creating new friendship, broadening personal horizons and live through wonderful experiences are things you just shouldn’t miss… Encounter means benefit for guests and hosts!

You can very easily combine your stay in a host family with other offers from the Youth Service by enrolling for a language course or by getting an insight into training possibilities in Switzerland. Do you prefer to register for a camp or take part in a trip? Take your pick from the attractive modules and combine them to create your own unforgettable stay in Switzerland!
