Graubünden: Facts & Figures
How many inhabitants are there? How many metres above sea level is it? How much water does it consume each year? How many places are there in education? The life of a canton is reflected in statistics, figures and percentages. The Canton of Graubünden is not only Switzerland's only trilingual canton (speaking German, Romansh and Italian), its 7,106 square kilometers also make it the largest canton by area in the country. Around 32,000 people live in its main city, Chur, the oldest settlement in Switzerland.
