The Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden is pleased to welcome you to its SwissCommunity pages. Getting to grips with the Appenzell region is made easy by the fact that everything is so close at hand!

Ausserrhoden is an autonomous region of very close-knit communities. To strengthen these links, the authorities intend to develop this cooperation even further: "Einigkeit macht stark" (strength comes from unity) is the rallying cry of the people of Appenzell.
