Appenzell Ausserrhoden: Politics

Chancellor Martin Birchler, Head of the Cantonal Administration of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, calls on all the Swiss abroad, especially expatriates originating from Appenzell, to get involved in Swiss political life.

The Canton is keeping a close eye on the cantons that are testing electronic voting. If anything, the rejection of the reintroduction of the "Landsgemeinde", on 13 June 2010, will allow the Canton to focus on the development of this new technology.
